Mike kept odd hours but then again Karen was a cop and understood. What she might not be expecting is for Mike to just make himself at home by entering her house. SO when she came downstairs she'd find him in her kitchen getting a drink.

Karen sighed as she put the gun down on the kitchen island. Just standing there in her panties and a T-shirt, this was a better surprise than what she'd been expecting. "Hey," she said, running a hand through her hair. "You had me surprised there for a second."

She laughed softly at that, she thought she looked half-asleep, running a hand through her hair to fix it. "This is what I look like after overtime," she said with a chuckle, coming over to greet him with a kiss. "How was your day?"

"Late night for you too, huh? I hope it was for a good reason." She kissed him back and reached a hand up to loosen his tie for him. "I can fix you something if you're hungry." A pause. "And don't take that as a euphemism Mike." Although really he could, she was used to it.

"You're so sweet." Karen smiled back at him, before she reached around to grab a bottle of chocolate milk out of the fridge. "Why don't you make yourself comfortable and I'll be on the couch?"

She did need to put her gun away now that she knew no one was breaking in. Once she'd done that she just curled up on the couch leaving plenty of space for him there.
