A little alone time.

Once her son was off to school Mike was waiting for her. He smiled when she returned, looking forward to just spending some alone time with her. He wasn't one of those pushy younger type guys who'd just jump her right away either. It would happen on it's own pace if it did. He did pat the spot beside him with a smile.

"Everything good?"

"Well you know the last time you tired me out." Karen laughed, taking his hand and walking upstairs with him. She knew he loved her, and she hoped he knew that she loved him. They'd been together long enough and been through a few things together. "Don't worry," she assured him. "You don't have to tell me you love me, I already know that."

"I will never have a qualm about telling you that I love you." He just wasn't the type to keep a woman wondering. He didn't mind sharing his feelings.

"I know. And I appreciate that." She smiled at him. "But we've been together long enough to know each other, so I don't ever doubt you either."
